State Police ID driver killed in fatal Hwy 199 crash
CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. —
Oregon State Police have released the name of the third man involved in a fatal crash that happened on Hwy 199, near milepost 25 on February 8th.
The driver of Honda SUV as 35-year-old Paul Garcia Vidales of Josephine County.
The crash happened several miles north of Cave Junction approximately 3:30 p.m.
JCSO says a green Chevy van driven by 46-year-old Joseph Pygman was heading southbound on Hwy 199 when he crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on into a Honda SUV driven by Vidales. The Vidales was taken to a trauma center where he was later pronounced dead.
Pygman was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A third vehicle, a white Mercedes driven by 37-year-old Sang Coa Tran of Crescent City crashed into the Chevy after the crash had occurred. He was not injured.
