Suspect arrested for recklessly causing the Klamathon Fire

John Colin Eagle Skoda, 32, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail for allegedly recklessly burning debris, according to Suzi Brady, Public Information Officer of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

CAL FIRE law enforcement officers worked in conjunction with the Siskiyou County District Attorney’s Office to make the arrest.

The Klamathon Fire started July 5th this year, and burned to 38,008 acres in and around the community of Hornbrook. It destroyed 35 homes, 48 buildings, causing damage to another 12. One Hornbook resident lost his life and three firefighters sustained injuries fighting this fire.
