The Jackson County Circuit Court has sentenced a man to 90 months of prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges of robbery and assault.

The Jackson County District Attorney's Office announced 52-year-old Vay San Duong pled guilty to all charges in connection with an incident that took place at a property on Lake Creek Loop Road near Eagle Point.

The DA's office said deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office were investigating reports of robbery and assault on the property when they discovered it was a marijuana grow and processing operation.

JCSO deputies found "multiple victims who lived and worked at the property with apparent injuries" at the location.

When law enforcement first arrived, the DA's office said Duong fled in one of the victim's vehicles. JCSO pursued Duong and stopped the car, chasing Duong on foot on Highway 140.

The DA's office said JCSO deputies weren't immediately able to continue pursuing Duong "due to safety concerns," but they found a large amount of marijuana in the vehicle which had been stolen from the property.

Several hours later, JCSO located Duong and took him into custody, finding zip ties in his pocket which matched those used to subdue the victims on the property.

Duong has pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • Two counts of Robbery in the First Degree,
  • Four counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, and
  • Two counts of Assault in the Second Degree.
