Teachers in Douglas County get recognized for utilizing new technology
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. - The Douglas Education Service District is getting recognized for putting new technology in classrooms.
Douglas ESD received an innovation award from Oregon Association of Education Services Districts for putting cameras in classrooms for educators to use. It allows teachers to record classroom interactions and lessons to later reflect on their work.
"If they just watch three minutes, and said, 'I'm gonna keep doing this and I'm going to tweak this,' then the next day, kids have a better learning experience--which is what we want,” said Analicia Nicholson, the Assistant Superintendent with Douglas ESD.
About six districts in Douglas County are using the technology.
Douglas ESD hopes more teachers agree to be recorded so it can expand the platform.
