Threat found at Brookings Harbor High not crediable
A student was arrested after making a false threat at Brookings Harbor High School on Thursday.
Brookings Police say they received a report of a threatening note listing the names of other students found at the school.
An investigation into the incident revealed that the student who had reported the note had also written it.
The student told police that it was meant to be a joke among friends and no intention of acting on the threat.
Police arrested the student, issued a citation for disorderly conduct in the first degree.
The student was released to their parents and apologized to the victims for their actions.
Police and BHHS staff concluded that there was no threat to the students, staff, or school.
The names of the parties will not be released at this time.
