Timely call leads to quick arrest after Dutch Bros. robbery

Grants Pass Police - Michael George

A man who escaped a Dutch Bros. with cash Friday night was quickly arrested after he was spotted at a local restaurant down the street from the coffee stand.

Grants Pass Police say that 42-year-old Michael George approached the Dutch Bros stand located at 251 NE Agness Avenue Friday night and threatened employees, as he purported to be armed with a knife.

According to police, the employees gave George cash, and the suspect fled on foot with the money.

George did not get too far. He went inside of the Los Taquitos Mexican Restaurant down the street from the stand. Restaurant employees called police nearly fifteen minutes after the robbery and reported of a suspicious male inside of the restaurant.

George was arrested shortly after the call. He is lodged at the Josephine County Jail for second degree robbery and menacing.
