Transient arrested on multiple charges after disturbance at a local motel

Police arrest a transient on multiple charges from a disturbance at the Shilo Inn Motel in Grants Pass on Sunday.

Grants Pass Department of Public Safety says, officers responded to a report of a man trying to break into multiple guest rooms at the motel a little before noon.

Officers say, they attempted to make contact with 42-year-old Jason Pelkey before he ran away.

Pelkey was later spotted on a roof at a nearby home.

Police were eventually able to arrest Pelkey without any further incident.

Pelkey was taken to Josephine County Jail and charged with interfering with police, third degree escape, and first degree burglary.
