GRANTS PASS, Ore. (KATU) – Authorities in Grants Pass believe they may have found the body of missing actor Charles Levin.

Search crews spent the past weekend looking for him in a remote area of Josephine County northeast of Selma.

On Saturday, Oregon State Police troopers said they found Levin's car abandoned on an "almost impassable" road.

His pet pug dog, 'Boo Bear,' was dead inside of the vehicle.

After hours of searching the nearby area, crews found a body they believe is Levin. The remains were sent to the medical examiner who will confirm the person’s identity and a cause of death.

The 70-year-old actor was in the process of moving when he disappeared last Monday.

Levin is an actor known for his role as Elliot Novak on the show Alice, as well as his recurring role as Eddie Gregg on Hill Street Blues and multiple Woody Allen films.

He played roles in TV comedies during the 80s and 90s, including "Seinfeld" and "Night Court."
