The Football Fever: Punter steals the show in first Ohio State Spring Game under Ryan Day
Gray beat Scarlet 34-17 in the first Ohio State Spring Game, but the talk of the town is punter Drue Chrisman after he proposed to his girlfriend.
The game had a slow start with no scores in the first quarter, but the offenses did decide to push the "on" button in the second quarter.
Running Back Master Teague scored first with a one-yard run. That opened the floodgates as 31 more points were scored in the second quarter alone.
It wasn't the scoring that people were talking about though after halftime, it was punter Drue Chrisman's surprise proposal to girlfriend Avery Eliason.
Chrisman appeared to be helping Eliason perform a kick, but he didn't let her actually kick the ball. Instead, he grabbed the ball, then went on one knee to propose. She said yes!
After the exciting halftime, the team put a couple of scores on the board taking the total to 35-17. Gray, led by new quarterback Justin Fields, got the victory.
Coach Ryan Day shared his thoughts on the team's performance after the game. The coach said the spring game is just the first step towards a successful season this fall.
