WATCH: 2,000 lb horse rescued from underground cistern

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD (WBFF) — A Montgomery County Technical Rescue Team rescued a 2,000 pound horse from an old underground cistern in Burtonsville, on Sunday.

According to the horse's owners and a veterinarian, the horse is well and "glad to be out of the hole." There were no reported injuries.

Video tweeted from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue public information officer shows trench rescue crews digging a trench next to where the horse is trapped.
