Southern Oregon Spartans take on Icemen to break losing streak

The Southern Oregon Spartans took on the Tahoe Icemen in Medford today.

They were in a 2-game losing streak when they hit the ice, and Spartans head coach Dennis Creighton said it was crucial for them to break the streak today.

"It's really important for us to go out there and work hard, and build the right habits, and go on to next weekend," said Denis Creighton, Southern Oregon Spartans Head Coach.

The game was far from an easy victory for either team.

The first period ended with a 1-0 lead by the Tahoe Icemen.

Halfway through the second period the Tahoe Icemen had a 3-0 lead over the Southern Oregon Spartans, but the Spartans came back and eventually tied it up.

The game went into overtime with a 4-4 tie.

Finally, the Southern Oregon Spartans won with a 5-4 lead in double overtime.
