Hottest June on Record

Aside from the first few days of June, Medford saw some abnormally hot temperatures. The Medford area broke 6 daily high temperature records, and shattered the previous record for overall hottest June by 4 degrees.

Normally, the month of June gives Medford a much slower immersion into the summer heat, with an average high temperature of 82 degrees. This year though, we averaged around 91 degrees for a high.

More than 2/3 (21 days) Of the month of June reached high temperatures of 90 degrees or above. Within those 21 days, 5 days were highs in the triple digits.

Medford wasn't the only place to see the hottest June on record. Historic heat was also achieved in Roseburg, Mount Shasta City, Ashalnd, Klamath Falls, Alturas and Cave Junction.
