Winter weather in full force for Southern Oregon, blizzard watch issued

MEDFORD-- The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for Southwest Oregon, specifically the Cascades and Siskiyous. The storm is predicted to be the strongest storm in terms of snow for this season.

Several inches of now are predicted Saturday, as the stronger storm will move into the area that morning. The storm may cause roads to become icy and snow covered, which will make travel difficult. Winds up to 70 mph causing blowing and drifting snow may produce local blizzard conditions.

A winter Weather Advisory will remain in effect until 10pm tonight. The advisory includes Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, and Lake of the Woods.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 9 am Saturday until 4pm Sunday. The storm warning includes Crater Lake, Diamond lake, Lake of the Woods, Green Springs, Union Creek and Mt. Ashland.

Blizzard Watch remains in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.
